INTRODUCING THIS YEAR’S JUDGES
One of the pleasures of competing at European Hozonkai Championship is being judged by judges that know what they are talking about. Not by judges that are just slightly familiar with the breed standard, nor by judges that are labeled knowledgeable simply because they share the same country of origin, but by judges that are truly experts in their field.
AKIHO Europe is grateful and honored to introduce the judges of the 8th European Hozonkai Championship: AKIHO Director of Judging SAITOU Akira and AKIHO Judge MIURA Kousei.
SAITOU AKIRA - AKIHO DIRECTOR OF JUDGING

September, 2017 - present: AKIHO Director of Judging.
2013: AKIHO 30 Years Association Award.
2011: Deputy General Manager at AKIHO Judging Division.
2005: Production Kennel Award, breeding more than five Tokuyuu and one Meiyoshou awarded Akita Inu.
1996 - present: Member of AKIHO Judging Department.
1989: First Meiyoshou award at 86th Honbuten.
1977: Became a member of Akita Inu Hozonkai + kennel registration.
Occupation
Representative Director of a real estate company.
MIURA KOUSEI - AKIHO JUDGE
Date of Birth
October 18, 1963
Profile
2015 - present: AKIHO Judge for exhibitions in various parts of Japan and in charge of judging at overseas exhibitions, such as AKIHO North America and AKIHO Beijing.
2013 - present: Member of AKIHO Judging Department.
July, 2012: Visited Russia to present "Yume" to President Vladimir Putin.
2008 - 2012: Executive of AKIHO North Akita Prefecture Chapter.
2006: Became a member of Akita Inu Hozonkai.
Occupation
President of Miura Koubisha, which specialises in interior finishes, sales and installation, including wallpaper, carpet, drapery, blinds, fusuma, shoji and kakejiku.
SPECIAL “THE AKITA INU BRINDLE” SEMINAR
This year’s European Hozonkai Championship will again allow its participants to expand their knowledge about the Akita Inu breed
On 29 September, an in-depth seminar about “the Akita Inu brindle” will be given by none other than SAITOU Akira—AKIHO's Director of Judging—and MIURA Kousei—AKIHO Judge. Furthermore, at the end of the seminar, there will be time available to ask questions, giving the chance to gain further insight on what makes the Akita Inu brindle so special and what should be paid attention to. Considering the expertise of the two speakers, we highly recommend all to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Additionally, in line with the seminar's theme, two Meiyoshou awarded brindle Akita Inu will be present at this year’s European Hozonkai Championship: Kouunmaru Go Senshuu Takashihamasou and Seikou Go Kanzakiya Kensha.
