"ANCHE HACHIKOU VIENE DA AKITA"
SPECIAL SCREENING IN ROME
On Thursday, 2 October at 16:00, the Istituto Giapponese di Cultura in Rome hosted a special event: the screening of the original Japanese version of Hachikou Monogatari (dir. KOUYAMA Seijirou / 1987 / 107’), presented with Italian subtitles.
Organized in collaboration with Cineteca Milano and AKIHO Europe, the event welcomed a special guest:
ISHIDA Kensuke, Mayor of Odate – the birthplace of both the Akita Inu breed and the world-famous Hachikou.
In addition, Antonino Saporito, President of AKIHO Europe, and Peter van der Lugt, Vice President of AKIHO Europe, further introduced the audience to the Akita Inu breed, accompanied by actual Akita Inu, celebrating not only the story of Hachikou, but also the cultural heritage of Japan and the legacy of the Akita Inu.
